Working as a truck driver, her husband suggested that dr. Lilian Jans-Beken should go to university, which she did at age 39. Dr. Lilian Jans-Beken became interested in positive psychology with a focus on gratitude and mental health. After meeting dr. Paul T.P. Wong, she became engaged in second wave positive psychology in general and existential gratitude specifically.
